3. Why is a 1-layer LED PCB sufficient for LED bulb? What kind of LEDs use such a PCB?

1-layer LED PCB is sufficient for most LED bulbs that only need basic series or parallel connections without complex routing, such as COB and SMD LED. Less layer also reduces cost, making it ideal for high volume and budget-friendly bulbs.

4. Why do modern electronics turn to LED bulbs?

Modern electronics widely utilize LED bulbs thanks to their unmatched energy efficiency and versatility. Compared to traditional lights, LEDs consume far less power and provide brighter illumination. Moreover, they generate minimal heat and have a longer lifespan, reducing replacement and improving safety. Additionally, their compact design is compatible with various modern devices such as smart lighting, automotive applications, consumer electronics, and so on.

5. Is this PCB compatible with SMD LEDs (e.g., 2835, 5730, COB)?

Yes, this 1-layer aluminum ENIG LED PCB is compatible with SMD LEDs, but we need to ensure the pad spacing matches your SMD LED’s footprint and the PCB trace can handle the required current of the SMD LED.

6. How does an aluminum base prolong LED bulb’s longevity?

Excessive heat will reduce LED lifespan and brightness over time. The aluminum base in the PCB is a good heat sink to dissipate heat and minimize thermal degradation, which ensures stable performance and longer longevity for LEDs.

7. Why choose aluminum instead of FR4 or ceramic? Can I customize FR4 with effective cost?

Aluminum PCB is the ideal choice for most PCB lights because it can effectively dissipate heat at a relatively low price, providing greater performance and longer operating time. Though FR4 is much cheaper, it requires additional thermal management, making it more feasible for low-power LEDs. As for ceramic PCBs, they provide superior thermal performance, but are more expensive for standard applications. We support FR4 LEDs, and if it is for cost effectiveness, we can modify FR4 with thermal enhancements. But for high-power or commercial LED bulbs, aluminum is always the best choice to balance the performance, reliability, and affordability.
