2 oz Copper PCB with Metal Core Base
$83.90
2 oz copper PCB is a printed circurt board with 2 ounces of copper trace and a copper core. 2 oz or 2.74mil/70µm defines the thickness of copper on the PCB, which provides higher current handling and heat dissipation capacity. Copper core provides better effect in heat dissipation. It is widely used for power electronics like inverters, LEDs, moter drives.

Questions & Answers
1. What is the minimum layer line spacing you can manufacture?
The minimum layer line spacing we can fabricate is 4 mil.
2. What solder mask color do you provide?
We provide Green, Red, Yellow, Blue, White, Black, and Purple.
3. What are your payment terms?
T/T, Paypal, Western union, L/C ,ESROW
4. Why choose 2 oz over 1 oz copper PCB? Does solder mask adhesion differ between them?
The increased 1 oz provides the PCB a higher current capacity, which can handle 5- 10A per trace and better heat dissipation and durability, ensuring greater performance and lifespan. However, the solder mask adhesion between two copper thicknesses is negligible.
5. How much space is needed between copper traces for 2 oz copper PCB?
The minimum required trace spacing is 8 mils or 0.203mm.
6. Is 2oz copper feasible for multi-layer PCBs?
Of course, 2oz copper can be used for all multi-layer boards. The higher thickness also supports tight registration and lamination.
7. Do 2 Oz copper PCBs use vias?
Yes, they do. Through-hole vias, blind vias, and buried vias can be used as the types of vias available for the 2-oz copper PCB.
8. Does 2-oz-thick copper improve the heat spreading of the copper-core PCB?
Yes, 2-oz-thicker copper improves heat spreading for copper-core PCB. It distributes heat more evenly, promotes heat transfer, and prevents hot spots.
9. How to prevent delamination in heavy copper MCPCBs?
Delamination in heavy copper MCPCBs is often caused by poor adhesion and thermal expansion mismatches. To prevent it, we can use high-tg dielectric materials or low-CTE metal cores, and have proper lamination techniques. Other PCB designs, like rounded trace edges and thermal vias, also help reduce thermal stress to ensure long-term durability and reliability.
