4. How does aluminum improve heat dissipation in LED PCBs?

Aluminum has a high thermal conductivity(150–220 W/mK), which is 600+ times better than FR4. It allows heat to spread quickly and evenly to avoid hot spots and ensure superior performance.

5. Why do solder joints fail more often on OSP Aluminum PCBs?

OSP (Organic Solderability Preservative)-Coated aluminum PCBs are more prone to fail because of poor wetting, thermal stress, and material incompatibility.

6. What other surface finishes do you support? Which one do you recommend if I want to use it for car headlights?

Except for OPS, we provide ENIG, HASL, Immersive silver, and hard gold plating for aluminum LED PCB. And we recommend you use ENIG for the PCB used in car headlights because it has great thermal endurance, reliability, and oxidation resistance. OSO and immersion silver also also acceptable alternatives

7. How to mount an aluminum LED PCB to a heatsink properly?

When mounting aluminum LED PCB to heatsink, workers would aplu a thin layer pf thermal paste or pad on the clean surface, and secure the PCB with thermal screws or adhesive for uniform contact. Tighten screws evenly and use thermally conductive epoxy for permanent bonding.

8. What causes LED color inconsistency?

LED color inconsistency may be caused by manufacturing variation, thermal effect, aging, electrical issues, and environmental factors.
