Product Description

Why choose our metal core PCB in stock? The pre-manufactured metal core PCBs, or MCPCBs, are an advanced PCB designed with superior heat dissipation, making it perfect for high-power LED lights and avoiding long lead times. The metal core includes aluminum, copper, and iron alloys like stainless steel.

Questions & Answers

1. What quality certifications do you have?

We have certified UL, ISO, RoHS, IPC, etc.

2. What is your payment terms?

T/T, Paypal, Western union, L/C ,ESROW.

3. What types of MCPCBs are in your stock?

Now, we have stocked 1-4oz copper single and double layer aluminum core PCBs, copper core PCBs, stainless steel PCBs, and LED-specific boards with standard sizes like 50 mm*50 mm. For more details, you can contact our professional sales.

4. Are in-stock MCPCBs cheaper than custom ones?

Yes, without the process of customization and fabrication, it costs less and delivers faster.

5. Why do some metal core PCBs in stock warp or bend?

MCPCB warming is often caused by asymmetric layer stacks or mechanical stress from improper mounting. To prevent such issues, workers may balance copper layers, choose thicker cores, preheat before assembly, and mount properly to reduce thermal shock and deformation.

6. Can you provide test reports or certifications for the metal core PCB in stock?

Of course! We’d like to offer you thermal imaging data, impedance tests, or UL certifications.

7. What solder mask and silkscreen options work best in the metal core PCB?

For metal core PCBs, the best solder mask options are high-temperature epoxy (LPI or silicone-based) to resist thermal degradation. Silkscreen can use ceramic-based or plumide-compatible inks to prevent cracking from thermal expansion.

8. Why do some solder joints crack on MCPCBs?

It may be because of the thermal expansion mismatch(CTE) between aluminum, copper, and components. If the thermal relief is not well designed, it will exacerbate cracking by rapidly transferring heat. Vibration and flexing may be another possible reason.

9. Why are Copper Core PCBs so much more expensive than Aluminum?

Copper core PCBs are 3–5 times more expensive than aluminum. This is mainly because of their raw material costs and machining difficulties. Besides, copper‘s higher density also increases shipping and assembly costs.
